Funeral transport partner for KZN funeral homes and operators

Partner support without blurring roles

Funeral operators need practical capacity, not another brand stepping into the family relationship. We keep the job structure clear: your team instructs the transport, supplies the details, confirms the receiving party and remains the client-facing service lead throughout.

We handle the transport assignment with a dedicated refrigerated vehicle, route readiness checks, signed handover and cleaning logs. That gives funeral homes and branches a reliable way to extend capacity for urgent, after-hours and long-distance funeral transport work without hiring a second vehicle or a second driver.

Overflow assignments

Use our unit when your own vehicle is unavailable or already assigned.

Scheduled transfers

Book route capacity for known collection and delivery windows.

After-hours support

Send urgent requests to the dispatch line with the route and document status.

When funeral homes actually call us

The pattern is consistent across the operators we work with. Funeral transport becomes a problem at predictable moments, and almost none of them are about the vehicle being broken.

  • Two calls at once. A collection comes in while your vehicle is already committed to a service or another transfer. The second family is waiting, and waiting is the part they remember.
  • The route is too far to justify. A collection three hours away ties up your vehicle and driver for most of a day, for one transfer. Subcontracting the leg is usually cheaper than the day you lose.
  • Your driver is off. Leave, illness or a vehicle in for service leaves a gap that does not care what day it is.
  • The vehicle is not right for the job. Longer routes and warmer months need refrigeration you may not run on every unit in your fleet.
  • A branch-to-branch move. Multi-branch operators consolidating between premises rarely want to pull a vehicle off front-line work to do it.

In each case the work is the same from our side: collect under your instruction, transport in a refrigerated compartment, deliver to the receiving facility, and hand back a signed record for your file.

How partner work is set up

There is no retainer, no minimum volume and no contract to sign before the first job. Most operators start with a single overflow transfer, see how the handover paperwork comes back, and go from there.

For repeat work we can agree a standing arrangement covering the routes you use most, how requests reach dispatch, and how jobs are invoiced. That tends to happen after a few transfers rather than before, and it stays non-exclusive either way.

Transport-only disclaimer: We are not a funeral parlour or mortuary and we do not store, prepare, embalm, cremate, bury, sell funeral policies or arrange funerals. We do not contact or serve families in place of the instructing operator. We provide refrigerated transport support subject to documentation, route readiness and availability.

Can a funeral parlour use you as overflow fleet capacity?

Yes. We provide transport-only refrigerated capacity for overflow, after-hours and long-distance assignments when the instructing funeral operator remains the client lead.

Do you compete with funeral parlours?

No. Body Transport Solutions does not arrange funerals, sell funeral products or store human remains. We support funeral operators with transport capacity and never deal with the family in your place.

Can we set up repeat partner work?

Yes. Repeat work can be handled through a defined route, dispatch and invoicing process once the operational details are agreed. There is no retainer and no minimum volume.

How quickly can you cover an overflow job?

Within the core area around Cato Ridge, Durban and Pietermaritzburg, often the same day. Timing depends on documentation being ready, the receiving facility being able to accept delivery, and vehicle availability at that moment.

Do you provide funeral transport outside KwaZulu-Natal?

Yes, by arrangement. Inter-provincial legs to Gauteng, the Free State, the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga are quoted and scheduled in advance rather than dispatched on demand.

Do you handle family arrangements?

No. The funeral operator or authorised provider remains responsible for family arrangements and service coordination.
